Yesterday, Fleetwood Mac legend Christine McVie died at the age of 79 following an illness. Her bandmate Stevie Nicks has subsequently shared a handwritten note, calling McVie "my best friend in the whole world" and dedicating a HAIM song to her.

In the post, Nicks wrote, "I didn't even know she was ill until late Saturday night. I wanted to be in London; I wanted to get to London — but we were told to wait."

She wrote, "One has song has been swirling around in my head over and over and over," and that she had hoped to sing it to McVie in person. Since that's now not possible, she wrote out the lyrics. The song in question turned out to be "Hallelujah" by HAIM, a bonus track from last year's Women in Music Pt. III.

In a comment on Nicks' post on Instagram, HAIM wrote, "rip beautiful songbird ❤️❤️❤️❤️we love u stevie."
