After five or six years of absolute secrecy, Spiritbox have broken down: frontwoman Courtney LaPlante has revealed the name the band has given their fanbase.

While many fanbases name themselves, how can an artist trust that they'll do it well? Then you'd end up having to use some sort of weird hashtag or call this collective of people who lovingly support your art by their awful pet name on stage every night.

Smartly, LaPlante and co. have bypassed that potential chronic cringing by coming up with a name of their own for Spiritbox fans — and now the singer has opened up about it.

"Did you know we call people who like our band 'Boxies'?" LaPlante tweeted yesterday (June 18). "I think [it's been] like 5–6 years of referring to you as Boxies but have never said it publicly bc I like when fans make their own name up, but I've accidentally said it on stage now a few times."

As far as fanbase titles go, Boxies is pretty adorable! Needless to say, Spiritbox fans in the Twitter replies seem proud to embrace the name.

Back in April, the Victoria-hailing band welcomed bassist Josh Gilbert to their lineup and released a new single called "The Void."
