Spiritbox have added a new spirit to the box! Touring bassist Josh Gilbert, formerly of As I Lay Dying, has officially joined the band's lineup. He replaces Bill Crook, who left in May 2022.
Vocalist Courtney LaPlante confirmed the news on Twitter yesterday (April 13) after the band shared the above press photo, captioned, "SPIRITBOX - 2023."
The Victoria, BC-hailing metal outfit are currently on their first headlining North American tour with After the Burial and Intervals, which includes a Toronto stop next month.
LaPlante also teased that they have new music — following last year's Rotoscope EP and their 2021 debut LP Eternal Blue — in the works in a cover story for Revolver earlier this week.
"Now we have to figure out when do we show you the songs? Do we show you in March? Do we show you in September? Or do we wait until 2024? I don't know," she told journalist Emma Madden. "We wrote this music because we really wanna share it with you. It made us feel a certain way and we wanna see if it makes you feel a certain way, too."
