Sled Island Music & Arts Festival isn't happening quite like usual this year, but the organizers of the Calgary event are still finding ways to bring music to fans. As well as organizing the three-day Camp Sled Island from August 19 to 21 — featuring special pre-recorded performances on the big screen — the festival has announced a compilation called The Sled Island Rock Lotto.

The album features nine one-off Canadian supergroups, each of which is made up of five randomly assembled musicians (who were selected lottery-style, hence the name Rock Lotto). These 45 collaborators were thrust together to write and record an original song for the album.

Contributors include Marlaena Moore, Thanya Iyer, Jay Arner, Peach Pyramid, Matthew Cardinal, VISSIA, and members of bands like Tough Age, Wares, Ora Cogan, Motherhood and more. Their collaborations took place remotely, and many of the artists haven't actually met together in real life.

Hear the album below. It's also available to purchase for $8. The full credits for who played on which song can be found at Sled Island's Bandcamp. The Sled Island Rock Lotto is being released for Bandcamp Friday, when the site waives its revenue share.
