Russell Louder has shared a new single. The PEI-born multi-hyphenate released "Movie Queen" today via Lisbon Lux Records.
The indie pop single's bouncy synths will make you want to find the nearest dance floor. Still, the fragility pervading Louder's powerful vocal tone reveals the emotion behind "Movie Queen," which was written during the end of their relationship.
Louder drew inspiration from the resilience of Old Hollywood's most iconic starlets — Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis and more. "I wanted to tap into that power as I fell deeper into the realization that I couldn't play this role anymore, and from that came 'Movie Queen,'" they explained.
Louder has released three singles since their 2021 debut album Humor. Their next endeavour will be their sophomore album, which is expected to arrive this summer.
