With touring fully off the table, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has much more time to hang with Tool, honour musical legends and, most recently, hit the studio with Rheostatics.

On Wednesday (August 7), Rheos guitarist-vocalist Dave Bidini shared some snaps from the studio, teasing new material arriving in 2025 that will feature the Rush axeman — who has been known to crack a few solos.

"Most of the Rheostatics with our friend Alex Lifeson, making some music to be heard next year. A thrilling few days," Bidini wrote.

In July, Bidini teased the forthcoming effort as "a live performance thing & some recordings." Rheostatics' most recent album is 2019's Here Come the Wolves, which marked their first new full-length in 15 years.

While we await further details, find photos of Rheostatics and Lifeson below.

Tomorrow (August 9), Lifeson's 1996 solo album Victor will be reissued.
