POP Montreal is now in its 20th year, and the festival will be celebrating the anniversary with a hybrid in-person/virtual event. It runs September 22 to 26.
The lineup features Backxwash, Soccer Mommy, Cadence Weapon, SUUNS, Cakes da Killa, the Dears, the Besnard Lakes, Chiiild, Dorothea Paas, DijahSB, Socalled, fanclubwallet, Le Ren, Lightman Jarvis Ecstatic Band, Vagina Witchcraft, Nick Schofield, Janette King, DESIIRE, Korea Town Acid, NOBRO and more.
In addition to music programming, the festival will celebrate cinema with Film POP (at Cinéma Moderne and Entrepot77), visual mediums with Art POP (on the Rialto's third floor), artisanal crafts and creations with Puces POP (at Entrepot77), conferences with POP Symposium (at the Rialto) and family fun at Kids POP (at Parc Saint-Viateur).
A press release notes that "a health pass will be required at the entrance of the concerts." As part of the safety protocols, all tickets must be purchased in advance, as there will be none available at the door.
