Pierre Kwenders has returned with details of a new EP. The Afro-Canadian artist has teamed with French producer Clément Bazin for Classe Tendresse, due October 23 through Bonsound/Nowadays.

Classe Tendresse features four tracks from the pair that recall one's journey through life, from childhood to old age. These originals are bolstered with three remixes from French producer and DJ Lazy Flow, Montreal-based duo NoKliché and Portuguese producer Pedro Da Linha.

EP openers "Sentiment" arrives today, and you can hear it below. The track is both a tribute to Africa and a pair of the continent's late music stars: Manu Dibango, who passed away from coronavirus earlier this year, and DJ Arafat, a pioneering coupé-décalé artist who died in a motorcycle accident last year.

As Kwenders said of "Sentiment" in a statement, "It's my love anthem with a prompt to 'coupé-décalé' carried by a simple message: One Love, Sentiment Moko!" Bazin adds, "I have nothing else to say besides that 'Allô Dakar, ici Brazza, qu'est ce qu'on s'amuse à Kinshasa' is the best opening line that I've ever heard."

While Bazin made his debut with Everything Matters in 2018, Kwenders' most recent solo album remains the acclaimed MAKANDA at the End of Space, the Beginning of Time, which Exclaim! named one of the Top 10 Soul & R&B Albums of 2017.

In the time since, Kwenders has made music as one half of ABAKOS, and has continued work with his Montreal-based Moonshine collective.
