Pete Doherty Announces Memoir 'A Likely Lad'

The Libertines and Babyshambles frontman wrote the book with Simon Spence

Pete DohertyLibertines and Babyshambles frontman and world-renowned rapscallion — has announced his first memoir, the very solidly-titled A Likely Lad

The book, written by Doherty and Simon Spence, is arriving June 16 on Little Brown. As per its official description, the memoir will take readers into Doherty's "creative process, decadent parties, substance-fuelled nights, his time in prison and tendency for self-destruction." He also writes about "poetry, Paris, philosophy, politics, the music business, and his key influences (from Hancock to Baudelaire)." 

Doherty's last album —The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime, a collaboration with French artist Frédéric Lo — was released earlier this year.
