Pavement's Scott Kannberg Gets Members of the National, Broken Social Scene, Grandaddy for New Album

After releasing The Real Feel in 2009, Pavement's Scott Kannberg is set to return with a new record under his Spiral Stairs moniker this year. Titled Doris and the Daggers, Kannberg's new solo disc will arrive in March.

Doris and the Daggers is said to contain "the most personal and emotional music Kannberg has ever written," influenced largely by the death of drummer Darius Minwalla, who had drummed with Kannberg on The Real Feel and in his other project Preston School of Industry.

Running 10 tracks in length, the record will feature guest appearances from the National's Matt Berninger, Kevin Drew and Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene, Shudder to Think's Adam Wade, and Kelley Stoltz. As well, Kannberg has shared a video for "Dance (Cry Wolf)" starring Jason Lytle of Grandaddy.

Dorris and the Daggers will arrive on March 24 through Nine Mile/Domino/Coolin' by Sound. CD and LP editions are available for pre-order through Domino here. Read through the tracklisting to watch the video for "Dance (Cry Wolf)" in the player below.
