Between Black Sabbath and multiple solo albums, Ozzy Osbourne's career has been prolific, to say the least. Now fans will get the chance to collect a huge selection of his works via what's being called the "definitive" Ozzy Osbourne vinyl box set.
Titled See You on the Other Side, the absolutely massive package will shine a light on Ozzy's solo career, bringing many of his out-of-print solo albums back to vinyl. Due out November 29 via Sony Legacy, the box set contains 173 songs across 16 albums — all of which will arrive on 150-gram, hand-pressed multi-coloured splatter vinyl.
The set also includes a collection called Flippin' the B Side, which gathers up an array of non-album tracks that have never before been on vinyl. Plus, there's a flexi-disc thrown in.
As a press release explains, albums such as Black Rain, Down to Earth and Scream have never received domestic North American vinyl pressings, while No More Tears has been remastered from the original master tapes to present a new 2-LP edition of the 1991 effort.
For art, the set includes "10 newly designed 24"x36" posters (including some never-before-seen images) each accompany the 10 studio albums released between 1981-2010," the press release states. Each box set will also be individually numbered and contain a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Ozzy himself.
What's more, See You on the Other Side will include 12 augmented reality experiences — the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
"This one's the most elaborate collection so far," Ozzy said in a statement. "It's very well thought-out and well put together. It's got everything in there that you possibly could want and some surprises along the way. The sound of a vinyl record is different, and I do believe that vinyl sounds better."
