The seemingly impossible has happened, as Oasis announced this week that they have reunited. But just in case you thought that the Smiths might do the same thing, Johnny Marr is here to shut down those rumours before they start.

Twitter user @kill_morrissey (ha!) tweeted on Sunday (August 25), "If Oasis can do it the Smiths can too (I'm delusional)."

Yesterday (August 26), Marr replied simply with a photo of UK politician Nigel Farage. Farage is a right-wing British politician who led the UK Independence Party and was a key figure in pushing Brexit forward.

Smiths singer Morrissey infamously supported Brexit and Farage, saying that "he would make a good prime minister." That was part of the same interview in which he claimed, "Everyone ultimately prefers their own race."

In 2019, when fans tweeted about the possibility of a Smiths reunion, Marr responded, "Nigel Farage on guitar."
