Over a year removed from sharing Snapshot of a Beginner, Nap Eyes have returned with details of a new EP. The four-song When I Come Around will arrive May 14 through Royal Mountain Records/Jagjaguwar.

When I Come Around opens with and takes its title from the band's cover of Green Day's Dookie favourite, which arrives today alongside a video directed and edited by Margarita Brighton.

In the clip, Nap Eyes frontman Nigel Chapman considers the commentary of a Reddit user who wishes he was more like Machine Gun Kelly. In an effort raise Nap Eyes' stock, he undergoes a pop-punk transformation that will surely win the band some more fans.

Chapman, who considers "When I Come Around" one of the greatest songs ever written, said in a statement that he has "been working under the influence and in the shadows of this and other Green Day songs, periodically reconnecting with and being floored by them, ever since I first began writing my own songs years ago. I hope the world will understand that getting to record this cover with Nap Eyes is a longtime dream come true."

When I Come Around also includes a cover of Bonnie Raitt's "Thank You," the previously unreleased original "Following a God Desire" and rework of "Even Though I Can't Read Your Mind" from Time XL (the hyperpop duo of Nap Eyes guitarist Brad Loughead and drummer Seamus Dalton).

Following the arrival of Snapshot of a Beginner, Nap Eyes shared a pair of B-sides from the LP, and joined NNAMDÏ for a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired single.
