Vancouver-based artist and musician Chandra Melting Tallow made her debut as Mourning Coup this past summer with the arrival of Baby Blue. Now, she's ready to share a video for the album's title track — and Exclaim! has your first look at the new piece.
The glitchy, melodic pop vibes of the song get matched with footage of Melting Tallow performing a dance routine in the clearing of a forest. Layered shots and mirroring effects give the visuals a hallucinogenic quality, adding some extra magic to the intoxicating loop of cha cha-esque beats and entrancing vocals.
The clip was directed by Zeesy Powers, who channelled the hypnotic whimsy of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" and the dark eeriness of Twin Peaks for the new visuals.
Baby Blue is available now through No Sun Recordings. Watch the video for the song of the same name in the player below.
