This spooky season, death comes to Montreal — that is, a couple of prominent farewell tours are coming to the city, giving fans a chance to bid their final farewells to a couple of beloved musical careers. Speaking of spookiness, get into the Halloween spirit with some classic heavy metal. Here are seven can't-miss concerts coming to Montreal in October 2024.

The true definition of a "can't-miss concert," Canadian indie heroes Tokyo Police Club have been on their last-ever tour this summer and fall. If you miss them now, you'll probably never see them again — so get on it!

Long known as the madcap jester of hip-hop, Danny Brown spent 2024 amping up both the intensity (the JPEGMAFIA collab SCARING THE HOES) and the introspection (Quaranta). Expect a little of column A and a little of column B when he comes to town this month.

Cyndi Lauper
October 18, Bell Centre

TPC aren't the only artists on a farewell tour this month — Cyndi Lauper has shown her true colours time after time, and her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour will give her one last triumphant go-around.

MJ Lenderman
October 21, Fairmount Theatre

Mark Jacob Lenderman has become the secret weapon on indie rock, appearing on some of the most beloved albums in recent years thanks to his work with Wednesday and Waxahatchee. With this year's Manning Fireworks, his own brand of brawny Americana is finally earning as much buzz as his collaborations.

Protest the Hero
October 23, Beanfield Theatre

It's been 11 years since Protest the Hero released their 2013 album Volition, and now they're belatedly honouring it with a 10th-anniversary tour. Evidently they aren't as technical about the timing of anniversaries as they are technical about the timing of their progressive metalcore.

Iron Maiden

Celebrate spooky season the right way: with some classic heavy metal. Their Future Past tour came to Western Canada back in 2023, and now the metal legends are finally making their way east.

He's one of the most legendary live performers in rock music history, known for euphoric, hours-long celebrations of his catalogue. He's getting a new concert documentary on Disney+ this month — but nothing's better than seeing the real thing in the flesh.
