A year and a half removed from the release of Metric's Synthetica, the album still has legs. The band recently released a music video for the title track, an instrumental remake of the album called Synthetica Reflections and a remix app. Now they've unveiled a video for the cut "Lost Kitten."
The clip was directed by Sammy Rawal and shot in Mexico City. It follows Toronto dancer/actor Sheldon McIntosh, who is sometimes known as Tynomi Banks when performing in drag.
According to a press release, "'Lost Kitten' re-imagines the archetype of a hero's journey, as Sheldon searches for his house mother — an 'angel.' His massive presence amplified with a sequin jacket and kitten heels, Sheldon's mysterious pilgrimage leads him through Mexico City into the canal maze of Xochimilco on a flat-bottomed trajinera. He reaches his destiny, delivering an epic vogueing performance to celebrate his re-union with the maternal."
