Maynard James Keenan Calls Rape Accusations "Despicable"

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jun 28, 2018

Late last week, an anonymous Twitter user accused Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer vocalist Maynard James Keenan of raping her at an A Perfect Circle/Nine Inch Nails performance in the year 2000. In the wake of the claims gaining traction in forums and online publications, Keenan has now shared a statement regarding the allegations.

Taking to Twitter today, Keenan wrote, "Many thanks to those of you who saw right through this despicable false claim that only does damage to the #metoo movement. And shame on those of you who perpetuate this destructive clickbait. As for my delayed but un-required response, I had my phone off. You should try it."

None of the accusations have been proven in any court of law and no criminal charges have been laid.

You can find Keenan's statement below.
