Marianne Faithfull's Give My Love to London features the fabled singer-songwriter working alongside a number of guests, with one of the big names being Bad Seed Nick Cave. Together, the pair have prepped a rather devastating new number titled "Late Victorian Holocaust," which you can hear online now ahead of the album release.
Written by Cave, who had also contributed material to Faithfull's 2004 set Before the Poison, the track exists in the miasma of London fog, a drone hovering above a plaintive piano and Faithfull's lines of devotion ("my dreams are yours to keep") and late night canal walks. Warren Ellis adds sorrowful string work to the beautiful tune.
Give My Love to London lands in the UK September 29 and in North America November 11 through Easy Sound Recording Co.
