Little Foot Long Foot

'Woman' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Nov 13, 2014

Little Foot Long Foot are almost set to unleash their new EP Woman, but Exclaim.ca is streaming it for you ahead of time.

Composed of Toronto veterans Joan Smith (White Cowbell Oklahoma), Jeff Heisholt (the Trews, Skydiggers, Peter Elkas Band) and Gavin Maguire (Dearly Beloved, Peter Elkas Band, Parlour Brothers), the trio are no strangers to making music. The new five-song collection hears them hitting the studio with producer Colin MacDonald of the Trews, who describes their sound as "Black Sabbath fronted by Kate Bush."

In a statement about his work with the band, MacDonald said, "Once we got the arrangements down, I just put microphones on these guys and let them do their thing. They're such great players — it was easy to produce them."

The EP delivers retro-rock vibes from the opening wails of "Woman" through the bluesy "My Word" and into closer "The Worst." It's a quick but invigorating listen and you can hear the entire thing below before its official release on November 18.
