Earlier this month, it was announced that the first new Sade song in six years — a tribute to her son Isaak — would be appearing on the Red Hot compilation TRAИƧA, an album "spotlighting the gifts of many of the most daring, imaginative trans and non-binary artists working today."

At the time of the announcement, there was also news that the beloved Beverly Glenn-Copeland — who recently revealed his dementia diagnosis in a video to fans recorded alongside his wife and creative partner Elizabeth — would be collaborating with Sam Smith for the compilation.

That collaboration is now here, and it's a reimagining of Glenn-Copeland's classic "Ever New," which is given a glittering organic makeover that features guitar, harp and violin.

"When I wrote 'Ever New' I had no idea it would touch so many hearts over so many decades," shared Glenn-Copeland in a statement. "I cried last year when a fan wrote to tell me that they played 'Ever New' for the birth of their child. Now, this collaboration with the genius that is Sam Smith is actual proof that our lives are, indeed, made ever new."

"It was a true honour and privilege to be in a room with such a beautiful soul in Glenn to record this legendary and very special song with him," added Smith. "It's a moment in time I will never forget and I am so happy to have been a part of this wonderful project."
