Sade's First New Song in Six Years Arriving This Fall, Dedicated to Her Son Isaak

It'll appear on 'TRAИƧA,' a new compilation from Red Hot "celebrating trans artistry"

Sade hasn't released a song in six years — the last we heard from the band was in 2018, when they shared "Flower of the Universe" and "The Big Unknown" for A Wrinkle in Time and Widows, respectively.

That's gonna change this autumn with "Young Lion," a new song dedicated to Sade's transgender son Isaak that appears on non-profit Red Hot's new compilation TRAИƧA, "spotlighting the gifts of many of the most daring, imaginative trans and non-binary artists working today."

The initial production of TRAИƧA began in 2021, and it now spans 46 songs broken into eight chapters. In addition to Sade's new song, it also features Allison Russell covering Jackie Shane, a 30-minute piece from André 3000, music from Moses Sumney, Adrianne Lenker, Grouper, Kelela and L'Rain, spoken word from Hunter Schafer, collaborations between Teddy Geiger and Yaeji, plus Sam Smith and Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and tons more.

"We hoped to create a narrative that positions trans and non-binary people as leaders in our society insofar as the deep inner work they do to affirm who they are in our current climate," TRAИƧA co-producer Dust Reid said in a press release.

The compilation's lead single, a cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" by Lauren Auder and Wendy & Lisa, is out now. Listen to it below and check out the full TRAИƧA tracklist.
