It turns out Ariana Grande is not the only pop star planning on reintroducing themselves with new music this Friday (January 12) — Lil Nas X has also announced a new single, marking his first material since 2021's MONTERO.

"J CHRIST" is "dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time," Lil Nas X wrote on the website we will continually be referring to as Twitter (in this case, it would be confusing to call it the other thing anyway).

While appearing at TIFF last September for the premiere of his Long Live Montero film, the musician teased that he was working on a new album of "fire-ass music," citing his appreciation for the folk and Brazilian funk genres. Suffice it to say, it's unclear what exactly to expect from "J CHRIST," and that's probably exactly what Lil Nas X is going for.

You can pre-save the single here.
