Toronto musicians Laura Barrett (Hidden Cameras, Sheezer) and José Miguel Contreras (By Divine Right) have long been staples in the Canadian music scene, but as previously reported, the pair recently tested out their acting chops in the Sarah Goodman-directed film Porch Stories.
Sticking to something a little more familiar, the duo also composed the soundtrack to the film. We've already heard the album's lead single "You," but now Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive first listen to the entire soundtrack.
The 13-song set offers up an array of instrumental pieces, which bring together the magical sounds of the kalimba with Spanish guitar. Tracks like "Trinity Bellwoods," "Late Night on the Porch" and "Hamburgers, Parades, and Questions," meanwhile, share sweet musical moments from the film that incorporate the characters' dialogue.
