"The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved"

Lady Gaga has been teasing LG7 for what feels like an eternity, with the Harlequin soundtrack to Joker II: Folie à Deux having served as a fake-out as cruel and unusual as the film itself. Last September, she promised the album was coming in February 2025 — and she was so close! Apparently, it's actually arriving at the beginning of March.

Billboards have now been spotted (and posted on social media) in New York City and Las Vegas advertising Gaga's new album, entitled MAYHEM, which the old-school marketing reveals will be dropping on March 7 via Interscope Records. You can pre-order the proper pop follow-up to 2020's Chromatica here.

A subsequent press release discloses that MAYHEM will be a 14-track record, including Gaga's recent single "Disease," her chart-topping Bruno Mars collaboration "Die with a Smile," and a third single set to premiere during a commercial break from the Grammys broadcast on February 2. The LP was executive-produced by the artist, Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt, and features additional production from Cirkut and Gesaffelstein.

"The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved," Gaga said in a statement, adding that the creative process was like "reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can't put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way."
