King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's 2020 has so far included a lineup change, the release of five live albums, three singles, a demos collection and concert film — and the prolific Australian outfit aren't done there.
Today, the band have announced 16th studio album K.G. and new live collection Live in S.F. '16 will both arrive November 20, independently and through ATO Records, respectively.
While Live in S.F. captures a 2016 U.S. tour stop at the Independent in San Francisco, the 10-track K.G. finds the band once more experimenting with microtonal tunings, as they did on 2017's Flying Microtonal Banana.
Marking a change in their workflow, the six-piece recorded K.G. remotely from their own homes scattered around Melbourne, Australia. Previously shared singles "Straws In the Wind," "Honey" and "Some of Us" appear in the tracklist.
To go with today's announcement, King Gizz have shared "Automation" alongside a video. Furthermore, the band also shared raw audio and video files for their latest single, allowing fans to reconstruct the pieces into their own remixes. Further details on the file share can be found here.
K.G. follows King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's 2019 studio album Infest the Rat's Nest.
