Yukon-based roots singer-songwriter Kim Beggs has announced her seventh studio album, previewed today by lead single "Bury Me Inside Your Heart."
To be released independently on September 20, Beneath Your Skin was recorded with Howard Bilerman (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Leonard Cohen) — with whom Beggs reunited years after working together at a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts — at Montreal's Hotel2Tango, with instrumental contributions from Charlotte Cornfield (electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboards), Lilah Larson (electric guitar, bass and drums) and Mike O'Brien (electric guitar). It's the follow-up to the artist's most recent LP, 2022's Steel and Wool.
In celebration of the forthcoming 13-track collection, Beggs has shared a live performance video of softly swaying lead track "Bury Me Inside Your Heart," which sees her perform the song live off the floor in Whitehorse alongside Cornfield, Larson and Wyatt Best. "No audience. What can I say? I am older and maybe a little wiser," Beggs wrote in the description of the video, which you can check out below. There, you'll also find the album tracklist details.
