Kanye West Wears "White Lives Matter" Shirt, Calls BLM a "Scam"

He wore it at his Yeezy fashion show in Paris

Kanye West is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons — this time because he wore a "white lives matter" shirt at a Yeezy (a.k.a. YZY) fashion show today in Paris.

Ye appeared wearing the shirt, plus bedazzled flip-flops, while introducing his Season 9 collection. According to Page Six, he said, "I am Ye, and everyone here knows that I am the leader. … You can't manage me."

UPDATE (10/4, 12:45 p.m. ET): In response to unsurprising backlash to the shirt and posing with controversial conservative influencer Candace Owens, Ye posted the following to his Instagram Stories: "EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM NOW ITS OVER YOU'RE WELCOME," TMZ reports.

It's not clear what Ye is trying to say with his "white lives matter" shirt — if he's trying to make some sort of an "all lives matter" rebuttal of the Black Lives Matter movement, or if he's simply being an edgelord and trying to cause controversy.

Back in 2018, Ye caused a massive uproar by arguing that slavery was a "choice."
