The digital festivities will run from July 24 to 26

The organizers of Guelph's Hillside Festival may have cancelled their 2020 edition due to public health recommendations surrounding COVID-19, but that doesn't mean they'll let the summer go by without celebrating music, art and culture. The festival will be presenting Hillside Homeside, with online festivities set to run from July 24 to 26.

The digital festival will feature video performances by an all-star lineup of artists including Alex Cuba, Birds of Chicago, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Donovan Woods, Haviah Mighty, Julian Taylor, Kaia Kater, Neon Dreams, Skye Wallace, Terra Lightfoot, the Deep Dark Woods, TRP.P and William Prince

Much like the festival's in-person editions, the proceedings will also include comedy, poetry and other live performance on the "Sun Stage," including Brandon Ash-Mohammed, Christa Couture and George Elliott Clarke, along with interactive workshops on topics like cooking, dance and peacemaking.

For those hoping to relive the Hillside Homeside experience during the rest of the year, organizers note:

THESE VIDEOS WILL ONLY BE UP FOR HILLSIDE WEEKEND. AFTER THAT, THEY WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE INTERNET, GATHERED IN A KNAPSACK, AND HURTLED DIRECTLY INTO THE HEART OF THE SUN. WILL THEY SURVIVE THAT TRIP SO THAT YOU CAN WATCH THEM AGAIN AT YOUR LEISURE? NO, IT'S THE SUN. IT'S PRETTY HOT. THEY SHOULD MELT.

That settles that, then.
