TGIF — well, sort of. It's Daylight Saving Time weekend, folks; life is about to get a whole lot darker. But we've got some levity for you with this luminous batch of new Canadian music!
In a nutshell: Edmonton's Talltale gets sporty, Lou-Adriane Cassidy has arrived and MUNYA charts her Voyage to Mars.
This week brought big comebacks from Simple Plan — who are gearing up to hit the road with the Offspring next year — and Jocelyn Alice, as well as an impressive debut from Sarah Harmer's niece, Georgia Harmer. (And there's clearly a genetic gift situation going on with the latter.)
It was album-release week for Ontario's SATE (The Fool), Pressa and Emma Cook; BC's Gold & Youth (Dream Baby) and Astrocolor; Saskatchewan's Megan Nash, Nunavut's Aocelyn and Alberta's T. Buckley. Lisa LeBlanc also announced her new album Chiac Disco and dropped the lead single.
Elsewhere, Deanna Petcoff delivers an acoustic version of "Failing Upwards" and Taylor Janzen covers Phoenix's "If I Ever Feel Better." Collaboration-wise, Fake Shark teams up with Madison Olds, Fionn and Mauvey find honesty together and Ceesar's "Speechless" is treated to an Afrobeats remix.
Get ready to dial those SAD lamps up to their highest wattage with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
