Toronto-based unit Fast Romantics are no strangers to making captivating music videos, having landed on last year's list of Exclaim!'s Top 10 Canadian Music Videos with their clip for "Julia." Now they're back with some brand new visuals for the song "Animal," and Exclaim! has the exclusive premiere.
We introduced you to the track earlier this year, and now it's been given the video treatment. The song came to songwriter Matthew Angus after a night of watching a guy behaving "horribly" on a night out, triggering a conversation — and eventually a song — about base instincts and choosing when to act on or resist them.
The clip was directed and edited by Christopher Mills and features processed shots of Fast Romantics performing, adding grainy filters, superimposing multiple layers and toying with camera speeds for some extra edge.
