Eyehategod drummer Aaron Hill was recently stabbed and robbed ahead of the band's show in Guadalajara, Mexico, and he's now issued a statement addressing the rather intense incident.

Hill took to Facebook to let everyone know he's doing well, as well as discouraged fans from making any sort of negative comments about Mexico as a result of his incident. Amazingly, the message came alongside a photo of the now-bloody Roky Erickson T-shirt he was wearing when the assault took place.

Hill's statement reads:

I wanna thank everyone who's reached out to send their love and support these last few days, it really means a lot to me and I thank you. I'm home and doing well. I also wanna thank everyone at Foro Independencia and Show No Mercy for their help and a special thanks to everyone in attendance for showing up and understanding why we had to cancel. I don't blame anyone for the incident as this could've happened anywhere and I don't agree with any negative comments about Mexico. I think Mexico is a beautiful place with great people and I look forward to returning and playing again See you all soon.

As previously reported, Hill was stabbed and robbed while en route to play Eyehategod's concert at the Forum Independence — an incident that forced the band to cancel the show on Sunday (July 7).
