Eyehategod were forced to cancel a show in Guadalajara, Mexico, after drummer Aaron Hill was stabbed and robbed en route to the venue.
According to various media reports, Hill had decided to walk from the band's hotel to the Forum Independence, the venue where the band were scheduled to play. Despite its short distance, Hill was stopped by three men and a woman.
The group reportedly took Hill's belongings and stabbed him, leaving him with a small knife wound on his left side. Hill is reportedly doing "well," but the concert was cancelled.
According to a statement from promoter Show No Mercy, Eyehategod had been provided with a driver for this very reason. "It is not possible that you can walk safely on the street willing to enjoy your Sunday," the translated statement roughly reads.
That said, Show No Mercy insisted no blame should be placed on the promoters, the band or the venue.
Here's hoping Hill heals swiftly.
