Joshua Leary has announced his debut album as Evian Christ. The English producer and DJ will share Revanchist on October 20 via Warp.
As Evian Christ, Leary has collaborated with Kanye West ("I'm in It"), Danny Brown ("Pneumonia"), Travis Scott ("The Ends") and more. The eight-track Revanchist follows 2020 single "Ultra," the artist's label debut after signing to Warp in 2015.
Revanchist is said to explore "the latent potential in trance to evoke, beyond euphoria, the fullest feeling of the sublime," and features collaborations with Swedish experimentalists Bladee and Merely.
Ahead of the album's arrival, listeners are introduced with opener "On Embers," on which blasts of percussive noise come to underscore splintered, reverberating a capellas and emotive synthesizers. Adjust your volume to a comfortable setting and press play below.
