Dying Fetus have returned with details of a new album. The American death metal vets will share ninth album Make Them Beg for Death on September 8 via Relapse.
Following 2017's Wrong One to Fuck With (which was nearly titled Gods Among Insects), Make Them Beg for Death brings together 10 tracks a release promises to be "fast, intense, and brimming with unstoppable grooves."
"We were like most bands, starting in the garage, drinking beer, having a little fun on the weekend, finding the right amps through trial and error," co-founding guitarist-vocalist John Gallagher shares. "We blended aspects of bands we liked – Suffocation, Obituary, Deicide, and Cannibal Corpse, among others; the dual vocal approach of Carcass – and made them our own. 'Let's make it moshy, let's make it slammy.'"
"It follows on from where Wrong One To Fuck With left off," drummer Trey Williams adds. "We don't need to participate in the technical death metal arms race. We've got the big guns, and we've proven that. It's all about pointing them in the right direction, so to speak."
New song "Feast of Ashes" arrives alongside the album news — and no, it's not written about the time they scattered a late fan's ashes in a mosh pit. Rather, the track illustrating the end of our collective existence has been paired with a graphic, age-restricted NSFW visual you can view here.
Pre-order Make Them Beg for Death.
