Drake Offers to Save Beloved Toronto Jamaican Patty Restaurant from Closure

Randy's Patties may not have to shut down after all

The Toronto fam sticks together. Of anyone, Drake knows this to be true most of all — and he's demonstrating his love of the city by offering to save one of its most cherished Jamaican patty restaurants.

Yesterday (February 23), a representative of Little Jamaica establishment Randy's Patties confirmed to blogTO that the Eglinton West shop would be permanently closing this Saturday (February 26) due to "years of endless Metrolinx construction, [two] years of COVID, labour shortages, and aging owners." They said that they "might" relocate, but those plans have yet to surface.

Naturally, when Canadian broadcaster Tyrone Edwards brought the issue to the attention of the hometown patois enthusiast, Champagne Papi himself stepped up to save Randy's, writing in an Instagram comment, "I'll buy Randy's right now."

While the business has yet to share any developments on the matter, Edwards told Drake, "Soon link you, trying to get hold of someone over there."

It appears the fate of Randy's remains in Aubrey Graham's hands. Here's hoping the sometimes-restaurateur has better luck with this venture than his previous eateries.
