Last November, Drake's Pick 6IX restaurant closed due to damage from flooding and a dispute with the landlord over unpaid rent. Now, it's been confirmed that the rapper's downtown Toronto establishment has closed its doors for good.
Speculation of Pick 6IX Sports' closure began yesterday (February 10) when passerby noticed that all of the restaurant's signage had been removed.

Today, restaurant operations manager Jeff Darby told Daily Hive that Pick 6IX Sports has shut down, revealing the landlord sought to terminate the establishment's lease while it was closed for repairs following the flood.
"The restaurant obtained an order permitting it to resume the business, on terms including the payment of the rent during the period it was closed by the flood. Pick 6IX had insurance coverage for the flood, but the insurance company refused to pay the rent that was due, resulting in termination of the lease," Darby told the site.
Darby added that the restaurant is "receiving legal advice with respect to the insurance company's actions," while also noting that the restaurant "is currently looking at other locations to resume its operations and serving its clientele."
Drake initially launched the restaurant as Pick 6IX in January 2018, ahead of rebranding as Pick 6IX Sports in March 2019. The restaurant previously closed in August 2018 "for renovations following extensive damage from a storm."
The year 2018 also marked the closure of Drake's first restaurant venture, Fring's, which opened in 2015.
