Now on his fifth album, DJ Khaled has mastered his formula for success ― each song unites multiple big-ticket guests over glossy production. The line-up this go-round includes B.O.B., Lil' Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Cee-Lo and Rick Ross, among others. The stars mostly phone-in their spots, while less proven newcomers like Vado and Wale (on "Future") deliver the most entertaining performances. When the formula clicks, it clicks well. "We Thuggin" is an enjoyably boneheaded Waka Flocka-led stomper slightly dampened by Ace Hood's generic thug-isms. "I'm On One" is a triumphant Noah "40" Shebib-crafted banger, with Drake leading the charge while Lil Wayne and Rick Ross ride shotgun. Though he began his career as a producer/DJ, Khaled's contribution to We The Best Forever is limited to networking and idiotic shouting between songs. Skip the album and grab the tracks mentioned above for a fine summer playlist.
