Jane's Addiction have been back in action, recording new material and preparing to tour North America with Smashing Pumpkins. Unfortunately, guitarist Dave Navarro won't be on hand for the tour, since he has announced that he is dealing with long COVID.
In an announcement through Jane's Addiction's social media, he revealed that he has been dealing with COVID issues since December 2021. "I had hoped for a full recovery by October but I am still very fatigued and will not be able to join this leg," he wrote. He will be replaced in the lineup by Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age.
It's not entirely bad news, since Navarro has clarified that, while his bandmates are on the road, "I will be working on some new Jane's material in the studio here in L.A." They revealed earlier this month that they had been recording at "Johnny Depp's place."
Navarro wrote that he is "focused on rejoining the guys when I am able."
