Last October, Danny Brown appeared to tease a new album dubbed XXXX, and ahead of his breakout effort XXX turning 10 this March, he's shared another snippet of new music.
Brown's latest brief clip, which you can hear below, was "produced by a chemist named Al" who fans will surely know as the Alchemist. In the tease, Brown raps in part, "We docking in at low tide / So strap up my n**** it's time to ride."
Today's snippet also arrives with a #XXXX hashtag. Whereas XXX was in part a reference to Brown turning 30, he will turn 40 next month, which could make XXXX something of a spiritual sequel.
Brown shared the snippet following a day of reminiscing about XXX with followers on Twitter. Earlier online, he revealed how he was told the effort "wasn't good enough to be a album so they put it out as a free mixtape." When a fan told Brown that XXX saved their life, the artist responded, "yours and mine both."
Last month, Brown launched Bruiser Brigade Records with an album from Detroit rapper/producer J.U.S. titled GOD GOKU JAY-Z. His most recent solo album remains uknowhatimsayin¿, which Exclaim! named one of the 10 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2019.
