Calvin Love

"I Wanna Know"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 15, 2015

In the grand scheme of things, we're not that far off from Calvin Love's Super Future, but there's still a couple of months to go before the album hits stores. Keeping us sated until the official June 16 street date via Arts & Crafts, the Edmontonian popsmith has let loose a stream of the album's glammy "I Wanna Know."

As you'll discover, there's plenty of grimy distortion applied to the tune's bend-heavy guitar work, and Love delivers more than a couple primal cackles. That said, the track's spaciously paced backbeat and various cloudy keyboard tones keep "I Wanna Know" in check, ultimately playing effortlessly cool than chaotic.

Love also recently unveiled plans for an upcoming North American tour. In addition to an appearance at Field Trip in June, Love will be travelling the continent with European psych-pop player Jacco Gardner, whose Hypnophobia arrives May 5 via Polyvinyl Records/Burger Records.
