The official arrival of Apollo Ghosts' third LP, Landmark, is right around the corner, and in anticipation of the release, the rock-oriented Vancouver fun punk band are streaming the entire 15-song collection right here at Exclaim.ca.
While past albums were recorded at Vancouver's iconic JC/DC Studios, this one was laid down on the cheap at the band's own jam space. Frontman Adrian Teacher previously told Exclaim! that Landmark is "about island paradise, doing the dishes and love," and that it's "the most domestic album the Ghosts have completed." He also went on to explain that the record explores "the concept of home... worries of aging, worries about lost love and abandoned friendships."
This will be Apollo Ghosts' first release for You've Changed Records. And it's no wonder that the band attracted the interest of the label, since their prior album, 2010's Mount Benson, earned recognition across Canada and was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize.
Following the digital release on May 8, a vinyl release will follow on May 15. Apollo Ghosts will play a hometown release show at Interurban Gallery on May 12.
