Boston hardcore greats American Nightmare (a.k.a. Give Up the Ghost) have been riding high since returning to the stage in 2011. Some seven years into their reunion, it looks as if the band will finally release some new music.
Frontman Wes Eisold shared a brief teaser on the social media account of his other band Cold Cave. The clip contained what sounds like new music, along with the cryptic month of February.
The video concludes with the Rise Records logo, with the label also sharing the clip on its account.
It was all fairly cryptic — could they be teasing a new release, or some sort of expanded reissue? Fortunately, bassist Josh Holden spilled the beans in full on his Instagram account, where he wrote, "We made a new record. It will be out in February."
Whether it's a full-length or an EP is yet to be seen, but the new release will mark the first new material from AN/Give Up the Ghost since their 2003 sophomore album We're Down 'Til We're Underground.
