Beloved Boston hardcore band American Nightmare (a.k.a. Give Up the Ghost) have been rolling out reunion shows since 2011, but they'll finally drop some new material in 2018. Following some brief teasing, the band have announced a brand new album.
The self-titled album marks the third full-length from the band, and their first since 2003's We're Down 'Til We're Underground. According to a press release, it sees the band pulling influence from hardcore legends like Black Flag and Cro-Mags as well as the Smiths and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Of the album, frontman Wes Eisold said, "In making this record we had one goal: To make a hardcore punk album that was true to American Nightmare, who we were then and who we are now. No filler, just existential poetic venom. This is ground zero, a new life for the band."
Rise Records will issue American Nightmare on February 16. You'll find its tracklisting below, along with the band's recently announced tour dates and a lyric video for the new song "The World Is Blue."
