Alice Glass and Alice Longyu Gao Share Brash Video for "LEGEND"

The duo bring the kiss-off anthem to life in new visual

Two Alices are better than one: Toronto's Alice Glass and Los-Angeles-via-Bengbu, China's Alice Longyu Gao recently teamed up on a new single called "LEGEND." Now they're back with a larger-than-life, punk-spirited video for the track.

In a flurry of strobe lights, Glass and Longyu Gao wear matching spiked red-and-black leather outfits and sing the kiss-off anthem straight into the camera from one of their favourite punk venues in L.A. At one point they even reach maximum grunge by lying on the ground while giant snakes slither over their bodies. Does it get more badass than that?

According to Longyu Gao, the video's conception was actually inspired by Glass — one of her personal musical heroes. "I'd put on Alice Glass' live performances up on YouTube during COVID," the artist said in a statement. "I can't get over the giving-it-all attitude she has on stage. 'LEGEND' is such a powerful track and I think the best way to let our audience experience it in a visual way is to perform it live."

Glass added: "I got to live two of my dreams for this video.I got to be the hype-person for an important female artist about to break out and take over, and I got to be engulfed by a beautiful python!"

Directed by Olivia Aquilina, the video crew consisted entirely of people identifying as queer, non-binary and/or women, with 3D effects helping bring the double-Alice vision to life.
