Hot topic of study at NYU Taylor Swift is already doing her due diligence as 2022 Record Store Day Ambassador by contributing to an exclusive RSD compilation album titled Portraits of Her alongside the likes of Laura Jane Grace and Julien Baker.

Other contributors to the 16-track comp include Alice Longyuo Gao, Asiahn, Banks, Boyish, Bully, girl in red, Girl Ultra, Julia Michaels, Joy Oladokun, K.Flay, Leyla Blue, Mariah the Scientist and Princess Nokia.

While a full tracklist has yet to be revealed, the songs on Side A are visible on the centre label of the record in a promotional photo [via RSD] and include Swift's "The Man," Baker's "Hardline" and Michaels' "That's the Kind of Woman."

Proceeds from Portraits of Her will benefit acclaimed mastering engineer Emily Lazar's We Are Moving the Needle nonprofit, supporting women and non-binary members of the recording industry.

"Women are an incredible asset to the music industry, yet they are underrepresented across the board — but particularly in recording," Lazar said in a statement. "To close the vast gender gap in this industry, we must all work together to empower women on and off stage, behind the music, in the studio and everywhere else in this business." (Read Exclaim!'s article on the producers transforming a field once dominated by men.)

Spearheaded by RSD and Vans, the limited-release Portraits of Her LP will only be available at select independent record stores on April 23 — Record Store Day 2022.

Recently, Dolly Parton praised Swift's response to Damon Albarn, who claimed that she doesn't write her own songs and that co-writing "doesn't count." Albarn later apologized and blamed "clickbait."
