Following last year's single "hometown (edit)," Montreal's Alexandra Levy — better known as Ada Lea — has announced a new EP.
Bridging the gap between 2021's gorgeous one hand on the steering wheel the other sewing a garden and her upcoming third LP, the six-track notes collection is due October 4 via Next Door Records / Saddle Creek.
Levy described new single "come on, baby! be a good girl for the camera" — co-produced by Phoebe Bridgers bandmate Marshall Vore — as having been written "while on a very challenging tour that took everything out of me."
"Over the years, I've developed a suspicion that your skin must be made of macho steel to 'make it' in the industry — you've gotta be able to suck it up, put a nice smile on your face, and do a little dance with a twinkle in your eye," the singer-songwriter explained. "The chorus runs with that belief, in a cheeky, non-committal and playful way."
The delicately polished, mercurial song arrives alongside a music video co-directed by Levy and Lawrence Fafard, which you can check out below alongside the EP tracklist.
