Despite turning heads earlier this month when he shared a trailer for a biopic attached to his new album american dream, 21 Savage has now walked back claims that it would hit theatres and revealed it was just a parody.

The trailer, which boasted a star-studded cast led by Caleb McLaughlin and Donald Glover as 21 himself at different ages, alongside Natasha Lyonne, Druski, You star Victoria Pedretti and BEEF breakout Young Mazino, teased the film's arrival for July 4.

Yesterday, 21 revealed to Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast that he was never actually serious about making the film.

"Nah, that was a parody," he chuckled, before expressing that he does think he can make a movie about his life at some point. "I feel like it could be [a real movie] one day. They'll hate on it now though ... because they're gonna be like, 'What the fuck 21 Savage deserve a story for?'"

Check out the full trailer for American Dream: The 21 Savage Story along with 21's explanation of the parody at the 1:38:16 mark of the Club Shay Shay podcast below.
