The MacGruber TV series was first announced back in 2020, and it was confirmed earlier this year that the cast would feature some wildcard additions — including Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane and Mickey Rourke — alongside Will Forte, Kristin Wiig and Ryan Phillipe.
Today sees the release of the series' first official trailer, and features first looks at Fishburne's General Barrett Fasoose, Billy Zane's Enos Queeth and Elliot as MacGruber's dad, Perry.
The series takes place 10 years after the 2010 film, after MacGruber's been released from prison. When Queeth — who murdered MacGruber's mother when he was a kid — threatens global destruction, General Fasoose enlists MacGruber to save the day.
"My country has invited me to die for it, and I RSVPed 'Yas Queen,'" MacGruber says in the trailer.
MacGruber will premiere on December 16 on Peacock.
