Will Forte and Jorma Taccone's throat-rippingly good movie MacGruber is officially becoming a TV series. The news, which almost felt too good to be true, is coming closer to reality with news of its absolutely bonkers cast.
In addition, of course, to Forte, the show will include new cast members Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne and Mickey Rourke. Yes, you read that correctly.
Rourke is set to play the role of Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth, "a mysterious villain from MacGruber's past." Elliott will play MacGruber's father, while Fishburne will play General Barrett Fasoose.
Returning from the film are Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe.
MacGruber doesn't have a release date just yet, but it will consist of eight episodes that will air on NBC's Peacock streaming service.
