After several COVID-related delays, Candyman is finally coming to theatres. The Jordan Peele-produced and Nia DaCosta-directed "spiritual sequel" to the original 1992 horror film is now set to arrive on August 27 — and with that news comes a brand new trailer.
As previously reported, the original Candyman, Tony Todd, will return as the film's titular character. The film will also star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Anthony McCoy and Teyonah Parris as McCoy's girlfriend, Brianna Cartwright, alongside Colman Domingo and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
The latest preview follows Abdul-Mateen's McCoy, the character who, in the original film, was kidnapped as a child by Candyman, now as an adult man looking into the myth on his own. Eventually attempting to summon the Candyman by saying his name five times into a mirror, McCoy comes face-to-face with the horror legend.
